The Creative Ambassadors Project

Within all of the marvelous displayed artistry New York City has to offer, an entire sector of creatives is constantly being overlooked. These are our potential future creative leaders overcoming adversities within marginalized NYC communities. These youth create magnificent works of art born out of obstacles and would thrive in a more positive career direction if only provided with the same exposure, tools and opportunities as other creatives.

This social disconnect is what led photographer, hip hop artist, creative educator and founder of Honeydark Creative Studios, Pri to create the social photo project called, “The Creative Ambassadors: an empowering portrait exhibit celebrating our future creative youth leaders!”  The project focuses on empowering the voices of underserved creative youth, by presenting them in powerful editorial-style photo portraits based on their creative career aspirations.

The goal of this project is to shine a light on young creatives who go unrecognized because of demographics, to build youth self-esteem and help break society’s negative perceptions of youth adversity.  The Creative Ambassadors Project is ongoing and open to creative youth ages 13-24 of all races, backgrounds, abilities, and gender identities.

The Creative Ambassadors Photo Project has been exhibited at the following locations: Photoville NY, Art At Fame Gallery NY, JCAL Jamaica Performance Arts Center NY, Art Pawn 2024 NY, LinkNYC public digital display exhibit for JFLUX 2024, and on permanent display at the T-Building in Jamaica Queens, NY. The Creative Ambassadors Project has been featured in Click Magazine, Nueva Luz Magazine, Sony Alpha, and on Spectrum NY1 News. The project has received funding and support from the Queens Council of the Arts, City Artist Corps, and Sony Alpha,

The Creative Ambassadors Photo Project is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
